About Meadows Padel

Meadows Padel is a new North West brand bringing padel, a brunch café and a Pilates studio together under one roof. Our first site has six courts and a mezzanine social space, and we plan to open more sites across the region.

We want to be more than somewhere to book a court. We’re building a place people come to play, eat, train and meet friends, and we need a leader who will shape that from opening day.

What you’ll do

You own the site’s results, its people and its community. Here’s what that looks like day to day.

Launch the club

  • Help get the site from fit-out to opening day: recruitment, training, systems, suppliers and launch events

  • Set up booking, membership and point-of-sale systems across padel, café and studio

  • Build the opening calendar of socials, intro sessions and launch offers

Grow the business

  • Own the site P&L and deliver revenue against budget while controlling costs

  • Drive court occupancy, our main revenue line, using booking data and smart scheduling

  • Grow memberships, class bookings and café and retail spend

  • Win corporate bookings, private events and school and community partnerships

  • Report performance to the directors and act on what the numbers show

Build the community

  • Run a full programme of leagues, tournaments, socials and junior sessions

  • Programme coaching and Pilates classes with our coaches and instructors

  • Know your regulars by name and make every visit feel welcoming

  • Work with our marketing and content team to raise the club’s profile locally

Lead the team

  • Recruit, train and develop the Assistant Manager, coaches and front-of-house team

  • Build and manage the weekly rota to match demand across opening hours

  • Lead from the front: every role here shares front of house, bookings and café duties, including yours

Run a safe, great-looking site

  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and keep training up to date

  • Keep health and safety, food hygiene and risk assessments current

  • Oversee cleaning, maintenance and court care, and manage site suppliers

What you’ll bring

You don’t need to have run a padel club before. You do need to have run a busy venue well.

Essential

  • 2+ years managing a hospitality, leisure or sports venue

  • Commercial sense: working to budget, controlling costs and growing revenue lines

  • A track record of building loyal, repeat customers or a community

  • Strong people leadership: recruiting, training and motivating a small team

  • Experience building rotas and managing staffing costs

  • Sound knowledge of health and safety and willingness to act as Designated Safeguarding Lead

  • Availability for some evenings and weekends

  • Excellent communication with customers, staff, coaches and partners

Desirable

  • P&L ownership or financial reporting experience

  • Food and beverage or café management, with a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or above

  • Experience launching or opening a new venue

  • Running events, leagues, tournaments or community sport programmes

  • Familiarity with booking platforms such as Playtomic

  • Retail or membership sales experience

  • A passion for padel, racket sports or fitness

  • First aid certificate (or willingness to get one)

What’s in it for you

Most padel clubs offer discounted play and food. We go further: once you pass probation, padel, classes and food are on us, a package worth £1,500 a year on top of your salary and bonus.

  • Annual coaching and development budget for courses, qualifications or coaching

  • Free padel, free Pilates and studio classes, and free food on shift

  • Apparel allowance for club kit

  • Food card for you to use in the café off shift

Working pattern

This is a hands-on, on-site role. Padel is busiest on evenings and weekends, so you’ll need some weekend availability.

  • 40 hours a week across the site’s opening hours

  • Some evening and weekend shifts each month, planned through the rota you manage

  • You set the rota, so you balance cover fairly across yourself and the team
